'Dinner at Le Bignon -
Recipes from a Loire Manor House'
During the last 5 years, so many of our guests requested
recipes from Peter after having the table d'hotes dinner
that we decided the best thing was to put them all
together into a book..
'Dinner at Le Bignon' is the result - not only a
collection of recipes but also information about food
from our region, hints on buying food in France and lots
of cooking tips..
Paperback. 93 pages. £6.50 plus
95p p&p. To order your copy, simply email us for full
details. Bon Appetit!
At Le Bignon, our aim is to give you the
opportunity to sample the very best Food and Wine that
this marvellous region has to offer.
ALL
our guests, whether you are staying in the Chambres
d'Hotes or in Vine House, are welcome to take Breakfast
and Dinner.
It is easy to see why this region is known
as the Garden of France. All around us are fields of
vegetables and flowers and our local markets are packed
with regional produce that is a joy to buy and cook.
We are working hard
to expand our own kitchen garden to bring more and more
food straight from the garden to the table. In addition
all meat and poultry is locally scourced.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served at 9am. In addition to
fresh coffee or tea and freshly pressed juice, you can
enjoy a buffet of cereals, cold meat, cheese, smoked
salmon, yoghurt and fresh fruit with breads and
croissants, and home made jams and jellies, such as
quince, redcurrant and orange, damson and mulberry..
Dinner
Dinner is served in the dining room or on the terrace at
8.00pm and you can enjoy an aperitif from the honesty bar
in the sitting room whenever you like!.
Your four course meal will reflect the very best produce
available and the wine list features a selection from our
local vineyard plus additional wines from a little
further West (Muscadet) and East (Saumur Champigny).
Finish your meal with a digestif with your coffee if you
wish.
Although dinner is Table d'Hotes, we will always offer a
vegetarian or fish alternative if requested.
Whilst we cannot guarantee to cater for all
dietary requirements, please ask when booking and we will
advise.
