Winter... picture postcard views, afteroon tea in front of the fire, not to mention bracing walks in the woods, fabulous Christmas shopping without the crowds and then home to a candle lit supper and a relaxing night between Egyptian cotton sheets in a luxurious 6 foot bed......
New Year's Eve (Réveillon de St Sylvestre) 2008/2009... festive foliage and
candles, after Dinner champagne by the Christmas tree,
fabulous fireworks in the grounds at midnight
Spring
... a certain
smell in the air, blossom all around, peonies in the
flower garden, asparagus for supper and a cuckoo as your
alarm clock..
Summer ... the
scent of roses, bumble bees on the lavender, cold drinks
by the pool, an abundance of vegtables, sweet tomatoes
and soft fruit from the potager, picnics in the grounds
and long, leisurely suppers on the terrace
Autumn...the orchard ripe for picking,
foraging in the woods for wild mushrooms, pumpkin lanterns for
Hallowe'een and a house full of glorious dahlias
